Penn Hills Tiny Home Community for Veterans
BOB Project, is partnering with Veterans Place to build a tiny house community that will serve as permanent, supportive housing for homeless veterans. This AIA PA award winning design, will include modular "living" models that expand as Veteran’s needs change. The site will feature a 5,000 sq. ft. center where BOB serves as a conduit to community resources. This center will provide veterans the camaraderie sometimes lost after reintegration into society. The life blood of this project is the responsive program offerings that include financial wellness, the arts, life skills, parenting, healthy eating and gardening. This innovative, modular tiny house plan is scalable and adaptive. It can provide needed services for a diverse array of people, i.e., single mothers with a daycare center, foster children needing forever homes with a family center, seniors with supportive services. The module concept and the green technologies will keep the costs of housing and utilities low. The lifestyle choice of living outside in the world, makes our programming needs paramount, keeping all engaged. Options of expandable modules to add a bedroom, office, nursery, storage space, are available. BOB is already working with the schools, businesses and neighbors to "Bring Out the Best” in connecting community. Our goal is to create a system of service delivery for Veterans and Community.
